What To Expect From Upper Cervical Chiropractic Care In Fort Wayne
If you've never experienced upper cervical chiropractic care before, let our NUCCA upper cervical chiropractor show
you how our sophisticated measurements and calculated, evidence-based corrections can improve your life.
Complimentary Consultation
Your very first visit will consist of a complimentary consultation that usually lasts around 15 to 20 minutes. The entire purpose of this visit is for us to learn about any problematic areas or health issues you may have and discuss whether the NUCCA style of upper cervical chiropractic care is right for you and your needs.
Day 1
Should you choose to start under care with us, day one is where we start with sophisticated testing and measurements to ensure that we have the necessary information we need to calculate the precise correction that your body needs. We will take a set of 3 x-rays of your upper cervical spine to determine the current position of the atlas, or c1 vertebra. Between your Day 1 and Day 2 appointments, we will review the x-rays as well as other testing results to calculate the specific angles necessary to gently shift the atlas back into a correct alignment and ensure your optimal health. Our day 1 appointments are scheduled to be up to an hour, though appointment times may vary slightly depending upon the complexity of your specific case.
Day 2
When you return on day 2 we spend time with you reviewing our findings and if a correction, or adjustment, is needed we go ahead and make the first correction. Afterwards, we take another set of images known as post x-rays to ensure that the atlas, or C1 vertebra, has moved back into the correct position as we intended. This evidence-based finding and correction technique is what makes upper cervical chiropractic care so effective. Our day 2 appointments are scheduled for up to an hour, though appointment times may vary depending upon the complexity of your case.
Welcome to Atlas Chiropractic of Fort Wayne!
The first day 1 and day 2 visits are the longest because they require extra time to take measurements, scans, and very precise imaging. Now that you've made it through day 1 and day 2, your future visits will typically be very quick (15 minutes or less) so as to allow you to get back to living your best life as quickly as possible.
We limit the number of x-rays we take to the absolute minimum and use a state-of-the-art high-frequency digital x-ray machine that limits the amount of radiation exposure to a fraction of what the older analog and film systems use. We will only suggest imaging when necessary, which means we do not take new images on most of your visits in our office.
